The pineapple is widely known as a symbol of gracious hospitality. Once a sign of extravagance due to the fruit’s scarcity in America, its roots can be traced back to Caribbean natives who placed pineapples at their front entrances as a welcome sign to strangers. Today all over The South, you can spot pineapples atop architecture, in home décor and now in these sweet Spartina pieces as a symbol of warmth and good cheer.
